Birth name, Mehmet Cengiz Oz (Mehmet being turkish for Muhammed), Dr. Oz is of the Muslim faith and is named after the Prophet Muhammed.

I have 2 eyes to see the world and the world is mine.
Later that day on my way, I saw a boy with eyes of blue.
He watched the other children play; he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said, ‘Why don’t you join the others, dear?’
He kept on looking straight ahead and then I knew he could not hear
Oh Allah, Oh Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 ears to hear the world and world is mine.
With legs to take me where I’d go.
With eyes to see the sunset glow.
With ears to hear what I’d know
Oh the world is mine
I stopped for a moment, just look how much I have
Everywhere, in all our lives, these are His signs

Protections
Surah Fatiha protects one from the anger of Allah.
Surah Yaseen protects one from the thirst of the Day of Judgment.

Surah Kauthar protects one from the enmity of the enemy.
Surah Kafiroon protects one from Kufr at the time of death.
Surah Ikhlas protects one from hypocrisy.
Surah Falaq protects one from calamities.
Surah Naas protects one from evil thoughts.

Imaam ash-Shafi’ee (rahimahullaah) was asked: “What is better for a man, to be established (in the earth) or to be tried by afflication?”
He replied: “He will not be established until he has been tried by afflication. Allaah, the All-mighty, the All-Powerful tried Ulul-’Azm [1] from among his Messengers; and when they were patient, He established them (in the earth). So no one should imagine that he will completely escape pain.”
