I read somewhere it’s estimated that at least 25 million people visit New York City’s Central Park every year and anytime you go, the flow of tourist will be unquestionably constant. As a native New Yorker, I’ve probably visited the park 5 times in my life and the feeling that people from all over the world come here to be delighted by a place that most natives won’t even ever visit is mind-boggling. I rode around on my bike for 3hrs and the enjoyment on tourist’s faces when admiring the park was reminiscent of the surreal experience my wife and I had when we visited The Louvre in Paris. I took the photograph inside the tunnel near the Bethesda Terrace where the purpose was to hide from the sun and little did I know that I would find perhaps the most meaningful moment of the day in a dark place.
